Are you gearing up for a summer vacation but dreading the thought of having to squeeze in workouts amidst all of your sightseeing and fun? Or are you an avid traveler, always on the go, and looking for ways to stay fit while seeing the world? No matter your travel situation, we’ve got you covered with these tips for exercising on the road!

First and foremost, when traveling, it’s important to make sure that you’re staying hydrated. Drink lots of water throughout the day, especially if you’ll be spending time outdoors in the sun. Dehydration can not only zap your energy levels, but it can also lead to cramps and other muscle pains.

If you’re driving to your destination, there are plenty of ways to get in a little exercise even while sitting behind the wheel. For example, try doing some ankle circles or knee lifts while stopped at red lights. You can also do isometric exercises by pressing your hands against the steering wheel and holding for a few seconds before releasing.
